Luca Birindelli

BeA-asia’s founder and CEO is Luca Birindelli, a lawyer and a visionary entrepreneur with long experience in China.

As an attorney, Mr. Birindelli carried out varied work, both domestic and international, in civil litigation, corporate, commercial and tax law, with particular expertise in banking law. He had extensive contacts with clients in the US and Europe.

From 1985 to 1988 Mr. Birindelli acted as counsel to Mr. Enzo Ferrari and Ferrari’s Racing Department. His responsibilities included sporting matters (regulations and settlement of sport related disputes) as well as contractual and financial matters.

Since 1985 Mr. Birindelli has been an active advisor to numerous cultural and entertainment activities. He served as Chairman of the Juridical Committee of the Italian Motorsport Federation and as Vice Chairman of the Sports Law Committee of the International Bar Association and, until 2003, he acted as Chairman of the “Challenger of Record Management for America’s Cup XXXI”.

Mr. Birindelli began practicing law in the Asia-Pacific region in 1987. At that time he founded Birindelli e Associati (BeA Law), an Italian law firm with a strong international orientation and regional offices in the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Vietnam and North Korea. He acted as managing partner of the firm until its merger with Studio Legale Chiomenti in 2008.

Over the years Mr. Birindelli developed an extensive law practice throughout the Asia Pacific region, advising clients on numerous legal matters, mostly in connection with manufacturing, infrastructure and telecommunication projects, acquiring a noteworthy expertise in the region.

Mr. Birindelli, a Fulbright fellow, is a graduate of the Law School of Rome University and of New York University, School of Law. He is a member of the Milan Bar (’82) and was admitted as a qualified foreign lawyer in the People’s Republic of China (‘96), Vietnam (‘96), Singapore (’98) and Hong Kong SAR (‘99). Luca Birindelli is active in the Inter Pacific Bar Association and in the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China as past-president of the Legal Committee. Mr. Birindelli is the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Rome.
